Costco price adjustment (30 days, own price only)

Costco’s US help center calls this a price match, but the rule is own-price: if Costco later charges less for what you already bought, you can ask for the difference. It is not a match against Amazon, Walmart, or anyone else. As of September 2, 2026, Costco customer-service article 628 (published May 15, 2026) is the page to confirm before you ask.

Warehouse and Costco.com are separate. Do not take a .com screenshot to the returns counter, and do not ask Costco.com to honor a warehouse tag. For definitions, see price adjustment vs. price match.

What Costco’s official article actually offers

For members other than resellers, purchases that reduce in price within 30 days of the purchase date are eligible for a price match. Products with promotional item limits are eligible up to that limit quantity. Costco reserves the right to deny a request at its sole discretion, and says it may restrict the policy later — restrictions would be shown at the point of purchase.

Holiday and dated promotions have an extra clock: a request must be submitted within both the active promotional dates and 30 days of the purchase date. After the promotion ends, they say the request may be denied even if you are still inside 30 days of purchase.

Warehouse vs. Costco.com

The same article says Costco does not price match Costco warehouse prices for Costco.com purchases, because .com prices include shipping and handling that warehouse purchases do not. Ask on the channel you bought:

Tire and wheel purchases qualify if the other conditions are met — online via the form, warehouse at that warehouse. Special-order kiosk and home-improvement installed products have their own Shop Card promotion rules (including a 14-days-before / 14-days-after promotion-date band). Ask the authorized dealer; do not treat that as a general merchandise window.

Costco does not match other retailers

Article 628 says Costco does not price match with other businesses or retailers. A separate article, “Does Costco price match with other retailers?” (published March 3, 2026), repeats that they do not, and points you to a return if you are unsatisfied. Do not lead with an Amazon screenshot.

Precious metals are not eligible for a price match or promotions, per article 628.

How to ask

Costco’s current warehouse price for this identical item is $[CURRENT]. Please apply Costco’s current price-match policy for a reduction within 30 days of purchase and refund the difference to the original tender. This is not a request to match another retailer.

Requesting a Costco.com price match on Costco.com’s own current price — not another retailer, and not a warehouse price.

Please credit the original payment method under the current Costco.com price-match article.

Have membership number, item number, purchase date, and the live Costco price on that same channel. Resellers are carved out: they must buy during valid promotional dates to get the promotional price.
