Guides to retailer price adjustments

Useful without an account. These pages explain how US store price adjustments work, how they differ from a price match, and how to ask. Owed is one way to watch the window after you forward a receipt — not a requirement for using the policy.

How-to

Definitions, scripts, and the requests that usually fail.

Policies

Dated pages for specific stores. We only publish a window when that retailer’s own help article states it.

Glossary

Price adjustment
A post-purchase refund of the difference when the same retailer later lists the same SKU cheaper, inside a published window.
Price match
Usually a request to honor a competitor’s advertised price, often at or near purchase — not the same as an adjustment.
SKU
The retailer’s item identifier. Adjustments typically require this exact identifier, not a similar model.
Adjustment window
The number of days the retailer gives you to ask. Often 14–30 days in practice; always confirm the current policy page.
Claim kit
The message Owed prepares in your name with order facts and the difference. You file it. Refunds go to you.
